FAQ

Most of the energy/telecom crossover I’m hearing about is when TEM providers being also managing energy costs – but we’re talking about much more than that with the actual reselling if energy/utilities, right?

Not necessarily; in many cases, it is just that.  However, you are correct that TEM’s can also manage all non-usage costs (NRC’s, distribution, equipment, etc.)  it is not as prevalent as the management of correct KwH’s but it does exist.

Are there any legalities to be concerned with when reselling energy?

Nothing that is incredibly different than in telecom.  The main one would be customers not fully understanding flexible rates that go up and down, kind like an ARM in the mortgage industry.

Do you anticipate any difficulty being posed by the fact that different contacts within a company might be responsible for the telecom and the utilities – new relationships to build?

Yes but we have seen that it is often the case that it is the same DM or that at least same DM in the “decision making group”.  In other words, there is usually more than one person making the decision and typically the same person who is part of deciding on the telecom is also deciding on energy.
